Glad to be home

Sheldon and I returned back to GA last night. We flew back to TN for my great-aunt's funeral. It was good to be back in TN to see my family, but it was under bad circumstances. We had a good time. My sister and her husband were at my parent's house and we all had a great time talking and laughing together. Sheldon was able to keep practicing the guitar. My aunt brought him one to the house. We were also able to attend a wedding while we were in town.
Today was a good day at school. The teacher bought a sympathy card and had all the students write their names on it. She also bought me a teacher calendar that has a different quote on each page. I thought this was really nice of her to do. Today I taught math and science. Science was fun. They made winter pictures and put cotton balls on blue paper to make snow for their picture.
I also went to an after school teachers meeting. It was pretty boring, but that's OK. Teaching is not always exciting!

Auntie Jewel

My great-aunt had a massive stroke on Dec. 31, 2006. She was in the hospital for almost a month. She passed away last night. Sheldon and I are flying out tomorrow for the funeral. We will be back on Monday. I will miss her dearly, but I know that she is in a better place.

Sick Days

The students in my class have all been sick. So, guess what happened to me. Yep. I got sick. Last night, I had a really bad migraine. I have been sick with a head cold since Friday. I think I am getting better though. 3 people from the First Baptist Church that Sheldon and I visited came to see us tonight. They brought information about the church and told us about bible studies and different things. I was so embarrassed because the house was messy. We had finished supper and ran to take movies back. Then, they were at the door when we got back. So, all of our supper mess was still out. Oh well. I guess they understood. Well, I am going to bed!

Puppy Sitting

Today, I have been puppy sitting for Anna. It has been fun, but a lot of work. She is 7 weeks old and is not house trained. She peed on the floor within 10 minutes of being here. I am feeling alot better. I have been sick with a head cold. I got it from a little girl in my class. Sheldon went riding today and I have been working on school work. Tonight he took me to Outback for dinner. It was really good, but we had to wait 1 hour to be seated. Here are some pictures of Anna.

The water was chilly, but we laid out in our swimsuits. I am gonna be tan in no time!!!

Movie Night

Today was a good day. Sheldon sold his trailer to Chris and Becky. We went on post this morning to help them load it. Then, we went to Panera Bread to eat lunch. I cleaned house, went to Wal-mart, watched 3 men and a little lady, and took a nap. Sheldon went to ride his 4 wheeler. Then, we went to the movies. We saw Children of Men. It was horrible. Do not go see it!!! Yesterday, Sheldon was playing Battlefield 2142 and he was the Commander of the Unit. (This is really good apparently.) Well, his men won the battle and he was really happy. Here are some pictures of him after his big win.

Wild Week

This has been a wild week. Sheldon worked 2 days, was off a day, worked another day, and then has 4 days off. So, he was really lucky. We also went to Wal-Mart last night and here is a picture of our new door decorations. Today was a half day for the students and then we had parent teacher conferences. The change was really different for the students. They were wild. One put glue all over his whole table. I wanted to choke him. HAHA. Then, when the students left 5 of the Kindergarten teachers went to eat lunch at Applebee's and that was fun. Well, I am off to do schoolwork.

Student Teaching

Today was the 2nd day of student teaching. It went pretty well. Someone peed on the floor of the boys bathroom and then bubbles were coming out of the toilet. Then, someone kept sticking markers in their mouth. Other than that, the day went by fast! Sheldon had the day off. The post went 100 deathless days, so all the soldiers got the day off. Here are some pictures. I finally learned how to use the timer on my camera! Here is a pic of Sheldon and I last night. He was cleaning his gun. Also, here I am on my 2nd day student teaching in Kindergarten.

Student Teaching

Today was my first day of student teaching. I went thinking I was in 1st grade, but I am actually in Kindergarten. It was really fun. There are 18 students in the class. There are 10 girls and 8 boys. I just observed today and talked with the teacher to set my schedule as to when I am going to teach. I am required to teach 10 full days with 5 of the days being consecutive. The students are really funny. I got an, "I love your name", "I love your clothes", and the funniest one was, "(Boy's name) just spitted in my hair". This last one was in the line coming back from lunch. I am sure that there will be many stories for the next 7 weeks!

Back to Work

Today was Sheldon's 1st day back to work. He had to get up at 5:00am. They did not have PT today. They had a 6:30am work call. I got up with him and made him breakfast. I made grits, toast, and orange juice. We talked while he ate breakfast and then he got ready to leave. I had packed his lunch last night, so I got that ready. I packed him lasagna, vegetables and ranch dip, an orange, and a coke. I also sent an extra thing of lasagna for Bertino to eat. Then, he left and I went back to sleep. I had to wake up at 8. I got ready and then I had errands to run. I went on post to register my car and then went to the bank. Then, I went to my orientation at AASU. There were about 50-75 student teachers there. It was a pretty informative meeting. I have to teach 10 full days at each placement with 5 of the days being consecutive. So, 1 full week and then 5 more days. I am ready to start tomorrow in 1st grade! Well, here is a picture of Sheldon on his first day back to work!!! There are also some pictures of Sheldon's beard before he had to save to go to work!

Lazy Saturday

Today, Sheldon and I went to Chuck E. Cheese with Becky and her son, Alex. It was pretty fun. Then, we went to find the elementary school I will be at on Tuesday. After that, we went to the grocery store and I came home and cooked lasagna. It was a pretty good day. Oh I brought home 2 of my great-aunt's dolls, Uncle Sam and Lois Ann (which was my grandmothers). They fit in nicely with our red, white, and blue themed living room.

Back in GA

Sheldon and I finally made it back to Savannah last night. The flight from Charlotte to Savannah was late because of bad weather in GA. We sat in the NC airport for 4 hours. yuck. I was so glad to finally get home. Here are some pictures from the airplane. Also, here is a picture of what Sheldon did most of the week. Haha.

Back in TN

On Sunday, my great aunt had a massive stroke. It left the left side of her body paralyzed. She has a broken right leg and is bleeding on both sides of her brain. Monday morning Sheldon and I booked flights and flew down to TN. The flight was delayed from Savannah to Atlanta for almost 3 hours. Sheldon went to the Delta counter and they gave us $14 in meal vouchers, $100 off any Delta flight within a year, and we got to fly first class from Atlanta to Memphis. We finally made it around 6 pm Monday night. We went to the hospital to say our goodbyes. The doctors were not expecting her to make it through another night. Yesterday she would open her eyes for a few seconds and she said a few words. Please keep her in your prayers.
