Play Dates

We have found a good group of friends in our town and once a week, the boys and I host a play date. With all 4 moms there are 10 kids, so it provides plenty of playmates.  I fill up the pool and the kids have fun swimming, jumping on the trampoline, and playing on the swing set.

(Crocker is hanging over the swing and Max is by the slide.)

It is nice because our big kitchen window looks out and the moms can sit at the table and chat while the kids are outside playing.
Everyone usually brings something and the kids are able to eat lunch together too.

The kids have fun playing for a few hours and I can usually bet on a 3-4 hour nap from the boys!

Around Home

It has been hot hot hot in our area. We are able to got outside to play in the mornings, but we are having to stay inside in the afternoons. It is usually 105+ and too hot to get out.

The boys have been enjoying a lot of fruit and veggies for their lunches. On this day, they had celery with peanut butter and raisins, strawberries, and cheese.

During the afternoons, they usually play cars, blocks, or they might get lucky and watch a movie.

I have been getting things ready to start the school year. Max is going to be doing K4 material. He is going to be focusing on learning sight words, simple math, and beginning to read.

Crocker knows his body parts, a few colors, a few letters and their sounds, and most of his animals and sounds. He is going to work on learning all of his colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.
Today we were looking at alphabet flash cards. Instead of repeating the letter and sound, he wanted to roar like a dinosaur. He is a pistol and wants to do what he wants to do. I have my work cut out for me with him! :)

Big Bed

We put off moving Max into his big bed until we moved. We found out I was pregnant soon after we moved and knew we would need the bed he was currently using to convert back into the crib.
We decided to have Sheldon make a headboard and foot board for a daybed frame we already had.
I picked out a bed I like from Pottery Barn Kids and he did such a good job!
Max and Crocker had a good time helping him put up the new bed! Now all we need is a bed skirt and curtains and Max's will be set!

Grandparents Visit

We had such a great time when my parents came to visit. I was feeling really sick, but we tried to make the most of their time here.

The day after we picked them up at the airport, we met up and went shopping. The boys had donuts and that was a special treat.

We walked around the mall and did a little shopping.

Then, we drove up to our town. We grilled out and then watched a movie. The next morning, the boys got up and had fun chatting with their Grandpa.

I was not feeling well, so we stayed in and played around at home. The boys had to get their pillow fighting and movie watching in.

Grandpa came with candy and the boys were loving that!

We got dressed up for the 4th of July. We went to a neighboring town for lunch.

We got home and the boys had fun playing in the mud and water.

Max got a new cowboy hat at the mall, so Crocker got Max's old hat. He just loves it and wears it down low over his eyes.

We had such a good visit and can't wait until we can do it again!

Baby #3

We are still really excited about the new baby.

I am due on February 5, but I will be having a repeat c-section. The doctor said we would be able to pick the new baby's birthday anywhere from January 24- February 3.

We have started clearing out the nursery. Sheldon put up the crib and we are just waiting to find out the gender to start deciding on bedding and decor. We should find out in September.

Max has a lot of questions this pregnancy. He is understanding things more and is very curious. His biggest question is how the baby will come out of my belly. He asked if it would come out of my mouth or belly button. Then, he was concerned the when the new baby was born that he would have to go back into my stomach. I assured him that would not happen!

Crocker is still too little to really understand what is happening. He will tell you there is a baby in my stomach, but I doubt he really understands.

What Happens?

What happens when you decide not to take a nap and fall asleep in the car on the way to get an afternoon treat?

Your brother enjoys all of the tater tots and time with mom!

Max loved loved his boots. Crocker loves them too!

We had VBS all last week. I taught crafts and the boys were in class with their friends all night. The preacher went around taking pictures and sent me this one of Crocker. He was not zoomed in, Crocker walked right up to the camera!

Snack Disaster

I have more pictures to post from the grandparents visit, but our computer is acting crazy. So, those pictures will have to wait.

The boys and I have been visiting the park quite frequently. This day, we took a snack and they were excited to eat it. Crocker dumped out the bag and Max happy. He told me, "Crocker dumped out our snack and it's not ok!"

Airport Greeting

The main reason for our mini vacation was to pick up my parents from the airport.
We got to the airport a little early and then discovered their plane had a 30 minute delay. We found a little restaurant and ordered snacks for the boys.

This statue was across the walkway from where we were sitting. Max walked over to see it and had a 3-4 minute long conversation with it. Sheldon and I were cracking up. Max walked back and I asked him what they talked about, but he couldn't tell me because it was a secret.

The boys were able to watch a movie on my phone and that kept one of them pretty entertained.

Crocker was content showing off for everyone and being a ham.

I hate that this picture is so dark, but the kids were so excited when they saw their grandparents come around the corner. Max just took off running to hug them!
