Day 5

This was our last day in Savannah. Sheldon had to go to work for a few hours. Max and I slept in and went to the mall with my parents. I went shopping for a couple of new tops for school.
When Sheldon got off work, we went back to the hotel for Max to take his nap. When he woke up, we went to Texas Toadhouse for lunch. It is inside the mall, so we walked around. Max had a fun time.

We found this car ride and Max had so much fun.

We drove back to TN yesterday. Sheldon is still in GA, but will be coming to visit in a few weeks. At the end of September, he will sign out of the Army and be here for good. Woo hoo!

Day 4

Today we went and took a trolley tour of downtown Savannah. It was fun and Max had fun with Grandpa Mark.

He was so tired and was out when we got in the car.

We went and ate lunch and then Sheldon's family had to leave. We were so sad to see them go.

Sheldon and I were able to go on a date later on that night. We got all dressed up and went to eat at the King and I. We had a really fun time.

Day 3

We woke up and Max and Sheldon started playing.

We went to eat lunch at the Crab Shack.

We went to the beach. Max was having a fit to get in the sand and water. I did not bring a towel or anything, so he just had to look at it.

After a nap, we took Max swimming. He is such a water worm.

Day 2

Today was the big day. We got up and headed to Hunter AAF. Max had fun hanging out with his grandpa and great grandpa.

The plane landed at 10:15 am and everyone was cheering.

These pictures were made inside the hangar waiting for the soldiers. It was so hot in there. They had 2 fans, but they could not cool the entire thing.

They had this jumbo TV set up that played slideshows of pictures that were taken in Iraq.

When the soldiers had finished their brief and turning in their weapons, they shut the hangar doors. On the other side, they were lining up into formation. Then they opened the doors, and the cheering began.

YAY!!!

After Sheldon collected his gear and took a shower, we went to eat at the Olive Garden.

Later that night, we went to hang out with the Hoesli's. Sheldon and Max had fun playing.

Our Trip: Day 1

We started early Monday morning to drive to Savannah, GA. After 11.5 hours in the car, we finally made it. Max is such a good traveler and played and watched cartoons all the way down.
When we got to town, we went to visit with Sheldon's family. His dad, uncle, grandma, and grandpa were all able to come down for the homecoming.
Max was fascinated with his great-grandpa Max's cane.
