Blizzard 2011

For days the weather men have been preparing us for a blizzard. We were supposed to get up to a foot of snow. Sheldon had to leave to go to work and I was prepared with plans for when the power went out.
Luckily, the power never went out and it did not snow as much as expected.
We still got quite a bit of snow; about 4-6 inches.

The boys and I have had a few days of staying at home and looking at the snow. We have played, colored, watched a lot of movies, and have taken a few naps.

We also made chocolate snow ice cream. It was a hit!

We baked Sheldon's favorite cookies.

We made pizza for lunch.

Crocker's job was to put on the pepperoni, but he just decided to eat them instead!

We all survived our 1st "blizzard" and are ready to see what the rest of the winter brings!

Christmas Decor

We had to limit our Christmas decor this year. We have a few sets of curious hands around our house and I did not want anything to get broken.

We set up our tree in the upstairs living room. We also put a tree in each of the boys rooms.

We do not have a fireplace, so we hung our stockings on a bookcase.

We have a rudolph pillow beside a basket of Christmas books.

I was able to put the nativity Sheldon bought me on a counter in the kitchen.

We hung ribbon on our cabinets to display our cards.

A Christmas tree my Grandmother painted sits in the kitchen.

We have a few other things set around, but I think I captured most of it.

I have always heard that love is a choice.

I will continue to choose him as long as I live.

Happy Anniversary!

Snowy Days

We have officially had our 1st snow day. We watched movies, made cookies, drank cocoa, and played.

I cut up a diaper box and drew roads on it. The boys drove and parked their cars for quite a while.

Suits and Games

It has been getting really cold at night around where we live, so Crocker has been sleeping in a footed sleeper. He has recently learned to zip, so he spends most of his time unzipping his suit and taking it off.
I got tired of seeing him in just his diaper, so I cut the feet off and turned it around backwards. He thinks it's fun to try and unzip the back of his outfit.

We have been playing Candyland a lot at our house. Max loves it and it is good for teaching Crocker colors. Max loves to win and is learning that sometimes other people win. He tries to be a good sport, but he really likes it when he wins!

Early Christmas Gift

Max loves loves to go on special outings with Sheldon. They go shoot, fish, or just drive around. Sheldon has been looking for a gun for Max and he found one the other day.
He bought it and brought it home. Max was so so excited and wanted to help Sheldon clean it.

Someone else wanted to help and was not happy when he didn't get to go.

Before they left, I had Max pose for a few pictures. He is so excited and ready for a fun day with his dad.

Updates

I thought I would do a quick run down of everyone and what we have been up to.

Sheldon-
His work has been slowing down which I love. He is not as busy and is able to spend a lot more time at home. I love it and he loves it for about 2 days. After that, he starts getting antsy and is ready to head out to work. I am wondering how it will go when he is off work for 3+ weeks when Eli arrives!

Max-
He is still trucking along with his reading. He can read 20 sight words consistently and can sound out 3 letter words. He got his 1st gun the other day (pictures to come) and has been out to the shooting range with Sheldon.

He recently got a carpet burn on his head. He decided not to nap, got down on his hands and knees, and rubbed his head on the carpet to make his head hot. Never a dull moment with him and his brother!

Photobucket

Crocker-
He is into everything and spends a lot of his day in the corner. He loves to play with blocks and puzzles. He is not into school work and will not sit still long enough for me to try and teach him anything.

Photobucket

Jenny-
I am over being pregnant. The end of January cannot come soon enough. I am miserable. I am sure Sheldon will tell you that he is ready for me to have this baby too so I will stop complaining to him!
We are getting the nursery ready and starting to stock up on baby items. I go back to the doctor on the 15th and we will schedule my delivery date!
