Swimming

I found a baby pool at Walmart for $7. The weather was finally nice yesterday, so I blew the pool up and we headed outside. He had so much fun splashing the water!!
Popcorn thought the pool was a giant water bowl. Everytime I turned around, he was getting a drink.

Good Morning Max

Max is so funny. I went to get him up this morning and his pants were almost off. I guess he was wiggling around too much. I went to get the camera to take his picture and these are the ones I got. He has started shutting his eyes every time I take a picture. I have no idea why, but he thinks it is funny. He squeezes his eyes shut and makes the funniest faces.

Out for a Walk

The weather has been so dreary the past few days. It has been raining and we have been having thunderstorms all day. This afternoon, it finally stopped. I loaded up Max and put Corn on his leash and out we went. It was really sunny, so Max needed his shades. Here is before and after our walk.

Man, sitting in a stroller and grabbing for Corn's leash can really wear a boy out.

Teeth

Max has 3 teeth and 1 on the way. They are a little hard to see in the pictiures, but oh well.

Memorial Day

I found this on another blog that I read and I couldn't have said it better.

On a holiday when most of our Country looks at our Nation's flag and fails to see what she stands for and those of us who know what is lost and all that is gained, let none of us forget those who are still fighting the good fight and their families who remain at home praying for their safe return.

As we wish one another Happy Memorial Day, we, the living breathing souls that truly know what it feels like to be a Nation at War, we remember that it is not about sales or a day off from work, it is about those who have laid down their lives and given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our Great Nation and the freedom of others......it is about their loved ones who have grieved that great loss. So on this National Day of Remembering, I wish you all a safe Memorial Day.....no matter where you are and who you are sharing it with. May God bless each of you and may God bless America.

Interview

I had my interview today. I was interviewing for a 6th grade Reading/Language Arts position. It went really well. The princiapl was really nice and I felt confident when I left. I will not know anything for 2 weeks, though. She will be on vacation next week and then she is doing more interviews the next. So, I will know 2 weeks from today.
Max was spending the night with my parents tonight so I could have a little break. I ended up coming to the doctor and ruined his fun time. My eye has been bothering me for a few days. Today, it started swelling. I came to the doctor and I have a stye. It really is uncomfortable and I hope it goes away soon.

Backwards

I have been looking over sample interview questions today. I brought Max in the office to play on the floor under his playmat. I looked back and him and Popcron had traded places.

Finger Foods

Max has added eating finger foods to his list of new things. He has been eating Cheerios and cheese. He is adding new foods all the time.

One Step Closer

Max and I are one step closer to Sheldon coming home. We mailed his last package today!!!

Max's Appointment

Max went to the doctor today for his 6 month old shots. He weighs 25.3 pounds and is doing fine. He played with the doctor's stethoscope and have fun. He was upset after his shots, but he quickly got over it.
He is going tomorrow for a cranial ultrasound. His head circumference is measuring off the charts, so she wants to see is anything is going on. She said that he is just a big baby and he has a big head. We are just doing it as a precautionary measure. So, say a prayer for Max tomorrow at 11am.

Also, I have a job interview on Friday. I do not know what grade or anything, but I am willing to teach anything! Keep us in your prayers. Thanks!

Popcorn P.

Popcorn has not been really doing anything lately, but apparently I have been neglecting him on the blog. He spends his days napping, running away outside, and looking out the window.

All He Needs is a Train

I just love these overalls!!! He looks like a train conductor.

These pictures were taken last week when we were waiting on Granny to go to lunch. I was a little happy that Max was sleeping and not screaming.

Whew!!!

I am glad that this week is over. Max has been trying to cut another tooth and it has been stressful. After lots of Orajel and Tylenol, many crying fits, and getting up early Max has a new tooth that has popped through.
He has 2 bottom teeth and one tooth on the top that has come through. Now, he has mastered grinding his 3 teeth. It is an awful sound and I will be glad when he stops doing it.

Pictures from Iraq

Here are pictures that Sheldon sent me.

haha. I thought this was funny.

This is a Christian flag that the church we attend presented to Sheldon on R&R. Everyone wrote messages and then they prayed over it.

This is a sandstorm.

Max's Tile

At the hospital where Max was born, you can purchase a tile. We bought one for Max and when Sheldon was home on R&R we designed it. They just put it up and it looks so good.

Mommy

I am so lucky to be the Mommy of the most wonderful boy that there has ever been.

The moment a child is born,
the mother is also born.
She never existed before.
The woman existed, but the mother, never.
A mother is something absolutely new.

7 Months Old

Max is 7 months old today. Boy, how times flies.

He is about 26-27 inches long and 22 pounds.
He has started rolling over and flipping around in his sleep.
He can gurggle.
He does not have an inside voice. I can be talking to Sheldon in another room and he can hear Max talking.
He loves to pat. He will pat the floor, water, your face, books, anything he can.
He still loves to sit in his bouncy.
He has started bouncing up and down when you hold him or he is in his exersaucer.
He rolls on the floor to get anything he wants.

Happy Mother's Day To Me

Today, I got the most beautiful arrangement of daisies from my sweet husband for Mother's Day. Daisies are my favorite flower and the yellow and white really make our living room cheery.

House Guests

Sheldon and I have a few house guests. I noticed them when I was taking Popcorn outside one day. I think he might have scared them off, but I am not sure.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day

May 9 has been offically named Military Spouse Appreciation Day.

Go here to read the story.

Out to Lunch

Max and I had a lunch date today. We met my aunt, uncle, cousin, and a friend.
While we were there, Max grabbed the lemon out of my tea. It immediately went to his mouth. He did not make a face at the sour taste or anything. He just sucked on it until he dropped it onto the floor.

Here are a few other pictures.
